The history of Hojai College is deeply connected with the educational aspirations of the people of Hojai and surrounding areas. 11th July, 1964 marks a historic day in the town’s journey toward academic progress.
On this day, Hojai College began its journey with just 126 students enrolled in the Pre-University (Arts) stream. Though modest in its beginnings, the institution symbolized the intellectual dawn of a small but ambitious town.
From the very beginning, the college was guided by a strong commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. Dedicated teachers, visionary leadership, and community support helped the institution grow steadily over the years.
By 2013–14, Hojai College proudly reached a significant milestone—its Golden Jubilee year. Completing fifty years of service to education was not just a celebration of longevity but a reflection of the college’s sustained contribution to society.
